Action Days: Imprisoned in the System

(this page is constantly updated with new information)

Prisons are meant to isolate and break the people in them. The prison system is not broken, it is part of the patriarchal, racist and capitalist system we live in.

Why do we punish at all? What is the purpose of punishment? What happens behind bars? How are prisoners punished in addition to being deprived of their liberty? What rights do prisoners have? And why are we in solidarity with prisoners? What can solidarity with prisoners look like?

We want to discuss these questions during the action days in June. There will be rallies and information tables in front of prisons on various days in Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck. We want to come together, discuss and show solidarity!

07.06.2025 – “Why punishing?” – JA Simmering (Wien, Kaiser-Ebersdorfer-Straße 297) – Start 1.30 pm
